Portifólio de Obras

The construction works for the Southeast port in Itaguaí, Rio de Janeiro state, began in 2010. A consortium formed between A.R.G and the company Civilport Engenharia is constructing the access bridge and ship-docking pier for this private port owned by MMX, part of Grupo EBX.

Various cutting-edge engineering solutions are being employed to make construction at sea possible, such as driving the concrete piles using specially-developed pile-driving equipment and assembling the superstructure with shipborne cranes.

The Southeast Superport pier is 765 m long and is connected to the land by an access bridge with a length of 647 m. It is necessary to drive 635 concrete piles of 900 mm to complete the entire project.

With a depth of 21 meters, the port is capable of receiving capesize ships for loading iron ore. The port's back-up area covers 52.1 hectares and houses storage and material handling yards.
